Customer Service Specialist I Client: Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian Location: Costa Mesa, California (2975 Red Hill Ave, Hoag Business Center, 92626) Department: Centralized Patient Scheduling Start Date: 06/23/2025 End Date: 12/27/2025 Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:05 pm, onsite, 40 hours/week (8 hours/day) Rate: $21.00 - $29.00 per hour (bill rate $40/hr; holiday $60/hr) Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced Positions: 1 Job Summary: Serve patients, members, and providers by answering calls, scheduling appointments, and triaging as needed. May handle patient/member pre-certification to ensure insurance coverage for appointments and care. Acts as liaison to ensure a personalized, high-value experience. Responsibilities: Answer incoming phone calls Schedule patient appointments, especially radiology diagnostic testing (e.g., mammogram, DEXA, X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine) Triage calls when necessary Conduct pre-certification for insurance coverage verification Utilize data and technology to support patient/member services Required Skills and Experience: 1 to 3 years customer service experience 2+ years experience scheduling radiology diagnostic testing preferred Health insurance verification knowledge preferred Epic EMR experience preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
