About the Role Join a compassionate interdisciplinary acute care team as a Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) caring for adult and geriatric oncology patients at a state-of-the-art facility in central Columbus. This travel nursing opportunity emphasizes telemetry proficiency, oncology care including chemotherapy administration, and professional growth in a supportive environment. Job Details Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Central Ohio) Assignment Type: Travel nursing assignment Unit: Med/Surg Tele - 10 James, Gynecology and Urology (Oncology focus) Duration: 16 weeks (April 6, 2026 - July 27, 2026) Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Days 07:00-19:30, Nights 19:00-07:30); schedule may include a mix of days and nights Hours per Week: 36 Orientation: 72 hours initial orientation (week 1 Monday-Friday dayshift; week 2: 36 hours with preceptor) Staffing Ratio: Target 1:4, may flex to 1:5 Self-scheduling: Requests accommodated to balance RN preferences and unit needs Qualifications (Med/Surg Tele RN / Oncology RN) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - Ohio RN or compact RN license required at submission Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Tele nursing experience; at least 1 year of specialty experience within the last 3 years Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Proficiency in telemetry, including rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management Oncology experience preferred - chemotherapy administration and brachytherapy experience a plus Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record preferred Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Two professional references required (one reference from a manager, director, or formal leader) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) and timely completion of onboarding compliance, including fingerprinting Preferred certification: ONS Chemotherapy Certification Core Responsibilities Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology patients on Med/Surg Tele units Administer chemotherapy and monitor for adverse reactions, following oncology safety protocols Monitor and interpret telemetry readings; respond to changes in cardiac rhythm and patient condition Participate in clinical trials and assist with accurate data collection and documentation Perform specialized procedures as needed, including brachytherapy support and neobladder care Manage IV therapy, central line maintenance, blood product administration, and enteral feeding devices Implement infection prevention and fall-prevention strategies to ensure patient safety Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including rapid response teams, to coordinate comprehensive care Utilize EPIC for timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes Float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed to support staffing and patient needs Why Join Our Team Hands-on oncology and telemetry experience in a high-quality acute care setting Supportive interdisciplinary team focused on professional growth, mentorship, and continuing education Competitive travel RN pay ($1940-$2040/week estimated), with potential housing and travel stipend where applicable Opportunity to live and work in Columbus, Ohio - vibrant city with diverse culture, arts, and outdoor spaces Advance your nursing career with a meaningful travel nursing assignment as a Med/Surg Telemetry RN (Oncology) in Columbus, OH.
