Chief Engineer - VehicleAVL Mobility Technologies, Inc. We are specifically looking for a Chief Engineer - Vehicle who is responsible for the technical delivery of large, multi-disciplinary projects. The Chief Engineer leads a team of project members, as assigned, to satisfy customer requirements and AVL's contractual obligations and serves as the technical authority on projects.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.Roles:Responsible for the technical delivery of the assigned technical programs, meeting AVL and Customer standards.Supports the program manager for management of finances and timelines.Works with colleagues to ensure appropriate technology is developed/applied to ensure program success.Develop a significant relationship with the customer with the objective of securing additional and future business.Work with Managers and VP to ensure programs are resourced effectively.Identify future program resource needs and communicate this to the required management representatives.Identify project performance issues and bring to the attention of Management team.Provide status reports to Leadership Team.Review and approve technical project reports.Qualifications/Skills:Bachelor's degree in EngineeringMaster's Degree preferred.10+ years' experience in area of expertise.5 years' experience leading projects of value greater than $150k.Demonstrated ability to lead project teams of greater than 10 persons.Demonstrated customer care skills.Experience in full production development process for vehicles, preferably in the public transit fieldDemonstrated understanding of Federal Transit Administration regulationsExperience in components, system and full vehicle testingDemonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex matters and make appropriate project decisions in a timely mannerPhysical Requirements:Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfacesBending and Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
