Our mission is to create a pleasurable eating experience for our customers by offering high quality confections and snacks while maintaining an unrelenting commitment to excellence.QualificationsRole SummaryThe 2nd Shift (4pm - 1am) Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the QA Specialists and COA Technicians. The Supervisor will assist in developing, training, enforcing, and monitoring food safety and quality programs to ensure GNC delivers safe, quality products that post no risk to consumers. This position will report on quality related issues and will be engaged in customer and 3rd party audits and visits. The role will also facilitate and monitor plant QA policies/procedures while utilizing risk assessments and CAPAs to help solve any production issues that may arise.Lead the implementation, integration, and monitoring of the SQF standards across the organization, from raw material receiving through order fulfillment.Ensure all documentation, records and verification activities are accurate, organized and meet regulatory and audit expectations.Responsible for reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.Oversee daily activities of QA Specialists and COA TechnicianHandle day-to-day production and packaging issues/concerns/questions/requestsPlace on hold materials due to quality, food safety and positive release reasons per Hold PolicyRelease products which are on hold when approval is receivedDelegate closure to hold reports in the database after confirmation has been received that disposition has been carried outTrain QA team on execution of holds and work to reduce the number of holds generated.Assist in mock recalls for primary packaging material, raw material and finished goodsParticipate in audits conducted by third party auditors, customers and local/state inspectorsLead root cause analyses and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with cross-functional teams, including investigation on poor quality issues and customer complaints.Assist in filling out customer questionnaires, where neededContact suppliers/brokers regarding issues in regards to raw materials Example: COA, code date/best by date, quality issues.Perform final verification on all CCPs identified in HACCP plan as well as participate as a HACCP team member.Lead team in internal audits verifying that findings are recorded appropriately to the program and addressed/closed out in a timely manner.Coordinate with engineering review of equipment and policy related to projects and contractor activity.Assign departmental staffing and manage employee attendance.Coordinate other daily activities as necessary or required by the QA department.Oversee X-Ray machines and create and add programs to the product library as necessary.Assign training to new QA Specialists.Approve and submit purchase requests for QA supplies.Cover for QA Specialists, when necessary (including weekends), conduct tasks outlined in QA COA Coordinator and QA Specialist job descriptions.
