Job Description: Position Details: Compensation: Average annual salary between $80,000 and $90,000 Work Schedule: Monday to Friday with daily home time Sign-On Bonus: Enjoy $333 weekly for the first 30 weeks! Role Overview: This entry-level driver training position is perfect for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in operating a tractor trailer or straight truck. You will learn to navigate local and over-the-road delivery routes safely, unloading and delivering various food products while adhering to company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Your interactions with customers, vendors, and colleagues will require a professional attitude to ensure the highest customer service standards are met. Key Responsibilities: Complete the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program, maintaining all necessary training documentation. Assist a driver trainer on deliveries by following all provided instructions. Conduct thorough safety checks (pre/post trip) of the tractor, truck, and trailer as per DOT regulations, reporting any safety issues promptly. Adhere to DOT regulations and company driving policies, reporting any safety hazards immediately. Inspect the trailer for secure and properly loaded freight, ensuring all items match customer invoices and preparing all paperwork accurately. Follow predetermined delivery routes to deliver customer orders safely and efficiently. Unload products, transport them into designated storage areas, assess for damages, and verify delivery with customers, collecting payments as needed. Ensure the security of the tractor, trailer, and freight at all times. Handle damaged goods and customer returns properly and return necessary paperwork during check-in. Maintain accurate records of hours of service as required by Federal DOT, state, and company policy. Keep the tractor and loading dock clean, completing housekeeping tasks as necessary. At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and finalize paperwork. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience. High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Valid CDL A license. Satisfy all state licensing and/or certification requirements as applicable. Must be at least 21 years old. Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years. Successful completion of post-offer drug test and background check. Able to pass a road test. Possess a valid DOT Health Card or be able to secure one. Capable of lifting and utilizing a two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment for handling various product cases ranging from 10-35 pounds to up to 60-90 pounds depending on location.
