CDL Class A Delivery Driver - Food Service

Job Description: Position Details: $225 daily guarantee, OR component pay (cases, miles, & stops), whichever is greater Drivers are averaging $60,000/year Home nightly & layover route packages, up to 2 nights out per week Five-day work week Monday - Saturday with early morning dispatch Position Purpose: As a vital member of the food supply chain, our delivery drivers ensure that our customers receive their products safely and on time. Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Function as a team member, performing any assigned duties to best serve the company. Conduct required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, ensuring safety compliance. Report all safety issues and necessary repairs. Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines. Inspect trailers to ensure properly loaded and secured freight. Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices for accuracy. Accurately complete all required paperwork related to freight. Move the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed. Drive to deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route delivery schedule. Unload products, transporting them to designated customer storage areas. Perform checks on items for damage, scan, and communicate with a supervisor regarding order removals as per company policy. Verify deliveries with customers and obtain required signatures. Collect payments (cash or checks) where necessary and ensure customer returns are loaded securely onto trailers. Keep tractors, trailers, and freight secured and locked. Unload damaged goods and returns, completing necessary paperwork. Maintain daily records of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT and company requirements. Perform general housekeeping duties within the tractor and loading dock area. At the end of each shift, secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork accurately. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent 12+ months of commercial driving experience Valid CDL-A Must be 21 years of age or older Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable) Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check Pass road test Possess a valid DOT Health Card or be able to secure a new one Ability to hand-lift and use two-wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment for product handling, typically ranging from 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds depending on location Company Description: Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group, fosters strong relationships with local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.
