The Group Living Supervisor plays a vital role in managing the day-to-day operations of the assigned department, focusing on administration, operations, and programming. This position involves overseeing various administrative tasks to ensure a nurturing home environment that promotes individual learning and independence while respecting each person's dignity. Monitor staff performance, including disciplinary actions and recognition. Provide ongoing support and communication to team members. Lead regular staff meetings to enhance team collaboration. Oversee performance evaluations and ensure timely completion. Assist with scheduling to maintain proper staffing on all shifts. Approve time sheets and leave requests for staff. Ensure the home is maintained in a clean and presentable condition. Track maintenance needs and submit requests as necessary. Conduct emergency evacuation drills in compliance with safety guidelines. Manage the home’s petty cash and budget for supplies and groceries. Monitor the census and documentation within the home. Participate in individual support teams and attend relevant meetings. Ensure compliance with licensing, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Assist in monitoring the health care needs of each individual. Collaborate with the day program to resolve issues. Direct Support Duties: Create a positive and engaging environment for individuals. Ensure transportation to medical appointments and mandatory check-ups. Facilitate meaningful activities that promote independence. Encourage participation in daily routines and skill-building activities. Provide personal care and grooming assistance as needed. Administer medication and monitor dietary requirements. Assist individuals with financial management and daily living skills. Transport individuals to community events and activities. General Responsibilities: Ensure the health and safety of individuals served. Act as a role model for both individuals and team members. Advocate for the rights and dignity of all individuals. Participate in required training and professional development. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma required; some college education preferred. Experience: Two years of supervisory experience required. Two years of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Certification required or obtainable. Valid driver’s license with a clean record. No history of criminal activity with dependent populations. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with personal mobility. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Capacity to adapt to stressful situations with good judgment and confidentiality. Aptitude for collaborating effectively with diverse individuals.
