MedCadre is seeking a travel nurse RN Outpatient Surgery for a travel nursing job in Augusta, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Outpatient Surgery Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/31/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Surgery Location: Augusta, GA 30901 Shift: Day Shift – 4x9 Hour Shifts Start Date: March 23, 2026 Duration: 14 Weeks Shift Times: Varied (6:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM) Patient Ratio: 1:4 Unit Size: 5 Operating Rooms Average Daily Census: 18 Patients Patient Population: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Surgery to join a fast-paced surgical team. The RN will function primarily as an Operating Room Circulator , providing perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. The role involves collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure safe, efficient surgical care while maintaining high standards of patient safety and infection control. Roles and Responsibilities: Serve as the Operating Room Circulator during surgical procedures. Prepare the operating room with required surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies. Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure smooth surgical workflow. Monitor patient condition throughout the perioperative process and document care accurately. Maintain sterile field and enforce infection control protocols. Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapy as needed. Handle and label specimens according to facility protocols. Participate in emergency response situations such as code events and fire safety procedures. Provide patient education and ensure patient safety throughout the surgical process. Skills: Operating Room Circulation Infection Control Starting Peripheral IVs Specimen Handling and Labeling Administration of Blood and Blood Products Emergency Response and Code Management Surgical Experience Preferred: General Surgery: Cholecystectomy, Hernia Repair (Inguinal/Umbilical), Laparoscopic Procedures, Mastectomy ENT Procedures: Mastoidectomy, Tympanoplasty, Stapedectomy, Radical Neck Dissection, Tonsillectomy/Adenoidectomy, Tracheostomy Orthopedic Procedures: Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel Release, Total Joint Replacement Ophthalmology: Vitrectomy Plastic Surgery: Breast Reconstruction Procedures Podiatry: Ankle Fusion, Bunionectomy, Metatarsal Surgery Requirements: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License (State or Compact License required at submission) Minimum 1 year of Operating Room Circulator experience in an intraoperative setting AHA - BLS, ACLS Experience with Epic and Pyxis systems preferred Ability to work with pediatric through geriatric patient populations Strong communication and teamwork skills Additional Information: Scrubs are provided by the facility. Floating is rare and limited to areas within the nurse’s scope of practice. Weekend shifts are not required. Travelers may occasionally need to stay beyond scheduled hours depending on surgical case completion. Full compliance is required prior to start date to ensure on-time onboarding.
