Bookkeeper – Mission-Driven Nonprofit | Portland, OR (Hybrid) Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid – 2–3 days on-site) Compensation: $57,000 - $66,000 About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization with a long history of serving the community, is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their collaborative and values-driven finance team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a mission-focused organization while maintaining a healthy work-life balance in a supportive, professional environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in nonprofit or fund accounting. They’ll be responsible for managing daily accounting activities, supporting month-end close, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Key Responsibilities Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. Process vendor invoices, payments, and deposits in accordance with internal controls and accounting policies. Assist with journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance. Support month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and reporting. Qualifications 3+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or multi-entity environment. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; able to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
