Preventative Maintenance Lead Technician

Preventive Maintenance Lead Technician As the Lead Technician for the Preventative Maintenance department, you will be responsible for coaching and developing field service preventative maintenance technicians, focusing in the South Western part of Georgia (Columbus, Macon, Albany, Valdosta). You will be the main point of contact for questions regarding difficult repairs and assisting peers in developing their technical and diagnostic abilities. You will also be performing preventive maintenance on various types of customer/rental machines as per machine guidelines in a safe and timely manner on customer job sites. Primary responsibilities include promoting and ensuring a safe, clean work environment in company vehicles and on job sites, performing random safety audits on company owned vehicles, identifying and correcting unsafe actions performed by technicians, assisting peers in developing their technical abilities, and communicating performance of technicians in email to management team weekly. Additional responsibilities include conducting post repair audits and coaching, completing in-office review of work orders and inspections, ensuring new technicians are equipped with proper tooling and training, and spending a minimum of 2-days per week with technicians in the field. This role will require occasional travel throughout South West Georgia (Columbus, McDonough, Macon, Albany, Valdosta). To be successful in this position, you should understand the requirements of time needed for scheduling work, keeping in mind current outstanding projects and employee schedules. You should possess a strong mechanical background knowledge with various engines and different types of equipment, excellent communication skills, and an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams. You should also provide your own tooling, exhibit teamwork mentality, and be able to work a flexible schedule, to include some nights and occasional weekends.
