Job Details Estimated Weekly Salary: $1820 - $1910 per week Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026) Shift: Day shifts, 12 hours (07:00 – 19:00), alternating 36/48 hour schedule Hours per Week: 36 (84 hours biweekly with 72 hour guarantee) Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel nurse On-Site Position Weekend Coverage: Required as needed (may include most weekends during contract) Orientation: 16 hours (modules completed during orientation) Qualifications & Certifications Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Med?Surg RN experience (progressive care or telemetry experience preferred) Travel nursing experience strongly preferred Epic charting experience strongly preferred (Epic experience / electronic medical record experience) Valid RN license in-hand before start date (Wichita Falls, TX requirements) Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Must be agreeable to floating between Med?Surg and PCU units Previous charge experience preferred Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of accepting offer Patient ratio experience: 5:1 (days) Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Med?Surg units Float between units as needed to support staffing and patient care Monitor and manage telemetry, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips—experience as a telemetry RN is essential Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, ABGs, and participate in rapid response/code teams Administer blood products, follow IV insulin protocols, and perform phlebotomy Care for central lines, PICC lines, surgical drains, chest tubes, and tracheostomies Manage feeding tubes, wound care, and wound vacs Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, and Pharmacy Document patient care accurately using Epic charting system and maintain clear, timely charting Maintain isolation precautions and PPE standards in accordance with hospital policies Apply now for this PCU Registered Nurse travel position in Wichita Falls, TX (76301).
