Regulatory Specialist Join KENT WORLDWIDE as a Regulatory Specialist! KENT WORLDWIDE has a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Regulatory Specialist. The Regulatory Specialist will be involved in all aspects of Regulatory Compliance for the Kent Consumer Brand's portfolio of food items. This includes but is not limited to creating ingredient statements, creating nutrition panels, naming of finished products, creating product specifications, managing ingredient supplier documentation and reviewing label artwork. The individual will maintain knowledge with all current food regulations of the US FDA and USDA. The position will assist in international regulatory support, predominantly North America. The role offers expertise in nutrition, labeling and regulatory compliance to support business goals. The compensation range for this role is $65,000 to $95,000 in addition to KENT standard benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k). Final compensation is subject to variation based on the candidate's skills, job responsibilities, location and other pertinent factors. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate and act on label documentation, nutritional and claim reviews for both pet and food products. Create, manage and update all appropriate regulatory documents (ex: allergen, GMO, Country of Origin, % range breakdown, customer questionnaires, gluten statements, Proposition 65, SDS, etc.) Create and/or assist in label creation and review process. Develop preliminary specifications and ingredient approvals for all new product development. Review and substantiate product claims. Review and submit products for third party certifications such as Kosher and Halal. Generate finished good specifications that include ingredient statements, allergen information, nutrition, directions for use, packaging information, claims, etc. Assist in all regulatory aspects of international and exported products, knowledge of CFIA and NOM requirements a plus. Support internal and external customer inquiries regarding nutrition, labeling, ingredients and claims. Review and maintain data for ingredients and formulas in product life cycle management system. Keep current with both FDA and USDA government food/labeling regulations. Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Research and Development, Quality, and other departments to ensure compliance in the marketplace. Utilize systems appropriate to the work assigned such as ProductVision, TraceGains, Decernis, Codsoft, etc. Maintain orderly files for correspondence and reports related to the responsibilities. Ability to work proactively and handle increasing levels of responsibility. Maintain and update ingredient files. Contact ingredient suppliers for needed ingredient documents. Follow up on informational gaps with other departments and vendors. Travel to customers, trade shows, industry events, customer events, company meetings, etc. as needed. Keep current with new technologies and industry trends and regulations. Other duties as assigned. Mentor less senior members of the department. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Science area or equivalent work experience. 3 years work experience with a focus on Regulatory Compliance, Nutrition, Research & Development and/or Quality.
