Bookkeeper William Vaughan Company is helping in the search for a bookkeeper for a general contractor based in Holland, OH. They are seeking a skilled individual to join their team. As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards. You will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall success of the company. If you have a strong background in construction and a commitment to delivering high-quality results, we want to hear from you. Role: Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process. Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct ledger, supplier's ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger. Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner. Reconcile entries to ensure all accounts are balanced. Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions. Assist with the preparation of financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information. Help support in contracts, job set ups and estimates. Develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system for financial documents. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Assist with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies. Requirements: Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles. Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records. Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers. Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong communication skills. Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
