Job Description The Senior Construction Estimator will take ownership of the full estimating lifecycle-from concept through final bid-for projects ranging from $1M to $20M+. You will evaluate drawings and specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, develop detailed cost models, and coordinate with subcontractors to prepare accurate bids and proposals.Responsibilities include: Lead estimating for designbuild, negotiated, and hardbid projects. Interpret architectural/engineering drawings, specifications, and addenda. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs across all divisions. Develop cost estimates, budgets, and valueengineering options. Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor bids; build strong relationships with trade partners. Prepare bid packages, proposals, schedules of values, and supporting documentation. Collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, and ownership during preconstruction. Assist with conceptual estimating during early design or feasibility stages. Maintain and update cost databases, subcontractor lists, and historical pricing. Participate in project handoff meetings and support transitions into operations. The Successful Applicant 7+ years of construction estimating experience with a general contractor. Strong background in commercial or industrial construction. Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Sage, ProEst, Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff). Exceptional ability to read drawings, visualize construction sequence, and build cost models. Strong subcontractor network and communication skills. Highly organized, deadlinedriven, and detailoriented. A team player with the ability to work independently and lead the estimating process.
