Job Description: The Structural Engineer IV is a senior-level civil and structural engineering role focused on the design, analysis, and delivery of nuclear safety-related structures. This position requires strong expertise in nuclear codes, static and dynamic structural analysis, and collaboration with internal teams, customers, and regulatory authorities to support nuclear power plant projects. Responsibilities: Perform civil and structural engineering activities related to the design, construction, and modularization of Nuclear Island structures and components. Demonstrate strong working knowledge of static and dynamic analyses, including reinforced concrete design, structural steel design, and composite structure design. Prepare system design deliverables, including system design specifications, structural analysis, and detailed engineering calculations. Perform design and analysis of nuclear power plant safety-related structures in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III Division 2, AISC N690, and ACI 349. nalyze thermal stresses in reactor containment structures and resolve overstress conditions. Define hydrodynamic input loads for dynamic response calculations of containment structures and for civil and structural design of reactor containment. Develop engineering reports and nuclear licensing documentation. Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and international regulatory authorities on technical issues. Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documentation using the designated requirements management tools. Lead and conduct design analyses, evaluations, and verifications for various boiling water reactor structural systems. pply engineering knowledge and practical experience to investigate and resolve complex structural design and application issues. Develop drawings and specifications to ensure products meet engineering, quality, and regulatory requirements. Work proactively with existing boiling water reactor product line and quality teams through process procedure approvals, process qualification approvals, and non-conforming material disposition. Perform work in accordance with applicable regulatory guides and industry standards for systems, equipment, and associated components and interfaces. Ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of equipment packages and engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines. Qualifications / Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Minimum of eight years of experience in the energy industry, preferably nuclear, or an equivalent technical environment. Minimum of three years of experience in nuclear power plant balance-of-plant or turbine island design and or operation. Minimum of two years of experience in a program or technical leadership role. Minimum of two years of experience working directly with customers, regulators, and suppliers. Additional Desired Qualifications: Professional Engineer registration in one or more U.S. states or Professional Engineer designation in Ontario. Master's or PhD degree in Civil Engineering. Proven ability to think strategically, act creatively, and adapt quickly. Strong team-building and leadership skills. Process-oriented mindset with the ability to drive continuous performance improvement. Open communication style with demonstrated ability to build strong team relationships. Working knowledge of boiling water reactor plants, particularly balance-of-plant, turbine island, and HVAC systems. Experience supporting nuclear power plant construction activities. Knowledge of nuclear industry products, business processes, and customer environments. Working knowledge of ACI, ASCE, and AWS codes and standards. Experience with steel plate composite structures.
