Position Type: Administrative Assistants/RHS Administrative Assistant, Grade II Date Posted: 3/11/2026 Location: Ramapo High School Administrative Assistant- Grade II (10-month) Ramapo High School Application Deadline: March 20, 2026 Description: The district seeks an Administrative Assistant to serve in the main office at Ramapo High School. This is a 10-month position. Reports to: Principal or designee Responsibilities: Perform administrative assistant and clerical tasks of a varied nature. Tasks will require a thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations of the schools and school system, and the frequent exercise of independent judgment. Handle correspondence of the office, responding to routine requests for information, and transcribing, word processing, and proofing letters and responses. Act as a receptionist when necessary, greeting visitors, answering telephone calls in a professional and efficient manner, communicating effectively in routine, sensitive, and confidential matters. Make announcements and operate the school intercom system as necessary. Work cooperatively with all staff in other offices with the completion of large or time sensitive projects or emergencies. Keep track of postage on the machine and prepare labels for mailings. Provide completed student accident insurance forms to the nurse, parents, and file, as necessary. Manage student sign in/sign out for late arrival and early dismissal, including any documentation and notes required. Prepare weekly online bulletin and update school website. Programs the exterior electronic school sign and keeps messages current. Perform other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma: college degree preferred Knowledge of automated office equipment and district computer technology Excellent verbal and written communication skills Compensation: In accordance with the current RIHEA Agreement, with a salary range of $50,525 to $62,054.
