Position Summary The Logistics & Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing all inventory, warehousing, and logistics operations supporting our yearbook and photobook manufacturing processes. This role ensures raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods are accurately tracked, optimally stocked, and delivered on time-especially during high-volume seasonal production cycles. The ideal candidate is detail-driven, process-oriented, and experienced in manufacturing or print production environments with strong cross-functional coordination skills. Key ResponsibilitiesShipping & Receiving Department OversightLead and oversee all daily operations of the Shipping & Receiving Department, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness Supervise shipping and receiving staff, including scheduling, training, performance management, and workflow prioritization Ensure all inbound materials (paper, covers, binding components, packaging supplies) are received, inspected, documented, and properly stored Oversee outbound shipments of yearbooks and photobooks, ensuring correct quantities, labeling, packaging, and carrier compliance Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for shipping, receiving, material handling, and staging Resolve shipping discrepancies, shortages, damages, and customer delivery issues in coordination with Customer Service Maintain compliance with safety regulations, DOT/carrier requirements, and company policies within shipping and receiving areas Inventory ManagementManage inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods across Quantum Fulfillment Services' facilities Forecast inventory needs based on production schedules, seasonal demand, and fulfillment volume Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP/WMS systems Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and resolve variances Minimize waste, shrinkage, and obsolete inventory through proactive planning and process controls Logistics & TransportationManage inbound and outbound logistics, including freight, parcel carriers, and delivery schedules Negotiate carrier rates and manage relationships with shipping vendors and freight partners Monitor freight costs and delivery performance to meet service-level expectations Ensure on-time delivery commitments are met, particularly during peak yearbook production seasons Warehouse & Cross-Functional CoordinationOptimize warehouse layout, staging, and material flow to support efficient manufacturing and fulfillment Coordinate closely with Production, Purchasing, and Customer Service teams to align inventory availability with production and shipping timelines Support capacity planning for seasonal volume spikes and special fulfillment projects Reporting & Continuous ImprovementTrack and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, shipping accuracy, and freight costs Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen service reliability Lead continuous improvement initiatives within shipping, receiving, and inventory operations Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3-5+ years of experience in logistics, inventory management, or supply chain roles Experience in manufacturing, print production, or seasonal high-volume environments preferred Strong knowledge of inventory control methods and logistics best practices Proficiency with supply chain systems and Excel or similar data tools Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Preferred Experience in yearbook, photobook, or print manufacturing Familiarity with paper supply chains and print production workflows Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience Experience managing vendors and freight contracts Key CompetenciesAttention to detail and accuracy Strong planning and forecasting skills Ability to perform under tight deadlines and seasonal pressure Clear communication and cross-department collaboration Leadership and accountability mindset Work EnvironmentManufacturing and warehouse setting with office time Seasonal peak workload aligned with school year production cycles May require extended hours during high-volume periods Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Professional development opportunities The pay range for this role is: 60,000 - 75,000 USD per year (Everett)
