Primary Job Title: Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Alternate/Related Job Titles: Psychiatric Registered Nurse Behavioral Health RN Mental Health Registered Nurse Psychiatric Crisis Nurse Psychiatric Emergency Nurse Location: Concord, MA Onsite Flexibility: Onsite Contract Details (Contract roles only): Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 3 Months Start: As Soon As Possible Pay Rate: $70/hr Job Summary: The Registered Nurse - Psychiatric provides specialized nursing care for adult and pediatric patients experiencing acute psychiatric decompensation within a crisis intervention setting. This role supports patient stabilization, monitoring, and coordination of care within a six-bed crisis intervention unit. The nurse collaborates closely with behavioral health technicians and emergency department staff to ensure safe, effective care while supporting the clinical goals of the psychiatric crisis intervention program. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises. Monitor patient condition and document clinical observations and interventions. Collaborate with behavioral health technicians to support patient stabilization and safety. Assist in managing patient care within a six-bed crisis intervention unit. Support emergency department processes and coordinate care with clinical teams. Report to and collaborate with the RGH Adult ED charge nurse. Maintain compliance with clinical standards and safety protocols. Required Experience: Experience providing psychiatric or behavioral health nursing care. Experience supporting patients experiencing psychiatric crises or acute behavioral health conditions. Ability to work in fast-paced clinical environments such as emergency or crisis intervention units. Nice-to-Have Experience: Experience working in emergency department behavioral health units. Experience working with both adult and pediatric psychiatric patients. Experience supporting crisis intervention programs.
