About the Organization & the Controller Opportunity: CFS is partnering with a multientity organization based in Severn, MD to hire an experienced Controller to oversee all corporate and fieldlocation accounting functions. This role is ideal for a handson, processfocused leader who enjoys strengthening systems, modernizing workflows, and supporting an upcoming ERP transition. The incoming Controller will play a key role in monthend close, consolidated reporting, financial analysis, and guiding a small team through technology upgrades and process improvements. The position is fully onsite in Severn, MD, with minimal travel ( Why This Controller Role Is a Great Opportunity: Highimpact position supporting ERP implementation, financial modernization, and workflow efficiency Stable, established organization with strong operational momentum Opportunity to enhance automation, reporting, and Excel/AIdriven tools Multisite exposure with increasing responsibility as the organization evolves Job Duties for the Controller: Support ERP implementation by validating GL, AR, and AP data and leveraging new system process improvements to reduce manual work Oversee the full monthend close cycle Review and approve journal entries, confirm timely and accurate reconciliations, and prepare consolidated monthly financial statements Present consolidated financial results Monitor daily cash activity, approve transactions, and manage short-term cash forecasting Manage monthly/annual state filings, licensing requirements, and state/federal income tax calculations in coordination with the external tax firm Oversee the annual financial audit Lead the annual budgeting process Participate in the annual physical inventory count Perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed Qualifications for the Controller: Bachelor's degree and CPA required 7+ years of progressive accounting experience required Software implementation experience highly preferred Must be willing to travel along the east coast to multiple sites at least once per month Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, xlookup, vlookup) Supervisory experience Must be able to pass a criminal background and credit check Location: Severn, MD (onsite 5 days per week) Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000 EB-5379933455
