Aquatics Head of Instruction (Seasonal)

Description The Country Club of Virginia is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Instruction to join our Aquatics team for the summer season. This leadership role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about aquatic instruction, staff development, and delivering exceptional member experiences in a safe and engaging environment. Key Responsibilities: Program Leadership & Coordination: Develop and manage a comprehensive Aquatics program that meets the needs of members across all age and skill levels Staff Management: Oversee the hiring, training, and scheduling of Aquatics staff, including Head Swim Coach, Lead Swim Coach, Head Dive Coach, and Lead Instructor Member Engagement & Events: Foster a welcoming and service-oriented atmosphere, ensuring members feel personally connected to the Aquatics program. Plan and execute member events to encourage participation Safety & Rule Enforcement: Maintain a safe and healthy environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols for both members and staff Team Logistics: Manage billing, uniforms, equipment, and other operational logistics for Aquatics teams Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including scheduling, facility maintenance, and collaboration with Club leadership to optimize programming Qualifications: Proven leadership experience in aquatics programming, coaching, or swim instruction Strong background in managing staff, training, and scheduling Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid (or ability to obtain upon hire) Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills Experience handling team logistics, event planning, and program development Club Profile The Country Club of Virginia is one of America's oldest and finest private, member-owned clubs.
