JOB SUMMARY The Supplier Business Manager (SBM) serves as the strategic owner of assigned supplier partnerships and is responsible for driving revenue growth, margin expansion, supplier performance, and long-term business alignment between Heilind and its supplier base. This role is central to maximizing the value of Heilind's supplier relationships and ensuring that supplier strategies translate into profitable market growth. As the primary business leader for assigned supplier lines, the SBM develops and executes comprehensive supplier growth strategies, manages commercial negotiations, monitors supplier performance metrics, and ensures alignment between supplier capabilities and Heilind's go-to-market objectives. The SBM is accountable for translating supplier potential into measurable business outcomes, including revenue growth, margin improvement, and increased market share. Operating at the intersection of sales, product management, asset management, and executive supplier leadership, the SBM plays a critical role in coordinating cross-functional initiatives that strengthen supplier partnerships and enhance operational performance. This includes leading supplier business planning, aligning internal teams around growth opportunities, managing supplier scorecards, and proactively addressing performance gaps. The SBM serves as the central point of accountability for supplier success within the organization, ensuring that Heilind's supplier relationships remain collaborative, strategically aligned, and focused on delivering exceptional value to both customers and partners. Through strong supplier engagement, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional leadership, the Supplier Business Manager ensures that Heilind continues to strengthen its position as the preferred global interconnect distributor. First 30 Days - Establish Business Command and Key Relationships Within the first 30 days, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of Heilind's business model, value proposition, and strategic role within the global interconnect distribution market. You will quickly establish credibility internally by building productive working relationships with the Supplier Business Management team, Marketing, Product Management, and Sales Leadership. Externally, you will initiate relationships with key contacts at a minimum of five of your assigned supplier partners, establishing the foundation for strong collaboration and long-term business alignment. First 60 Days - Develop Deep Portfolio Insight Within the first 60 days, you will demonstrate command of your assigned supplier portfolio by completing a comprehensive performance assessment across key business metrics. You will analyze revenue history, margin trends, inventory exposure, supplier scorecards, and open quality or compliance issues in order to identify both risks and growth opportunities. During this phase, you will also observe best practices by collaborating closely with experienced Supplier Business Managers, gaining insight into strategic supplier management and operational execution. By the end of this phase, you will have identified priority opportunities for revenue growth, margin improvement, and operational alignment across your supplier portfolio. First 90 Days - Launch Strategic Supplier Growth Initiatives Within the first 90 days, you will transition from assessment to execution by establishing a clear business strategy for your assigned suppliers. You will develop and begin executing a supplier business plan that outlines targets for revenue growth, margin performance, and inventory alignment. At the same time, you will begin addressing any previously identified performance gaps, including quality issues, delivery challenges, or pricing misalignment. You will also expand your supplier engagement by establishing relationships with leadership contacts across additional key supplier partners. Six Months - Deliver Measurable Business Impact Within six months, you will demonstrate measurable contribution to the performance of your supplier portfolio. Working in partnership with the Director of Supplier Relations, you will lead your first structured supplier performance review and implement at least one initiative designed to improve margin performance or pricing alignment. You will also provide your first formal supplier performance presentation to Sales Leadership, delivering insights into growth opportunities, operational risks, and strategic priorities. During this period, you will proactively work with Asset and Product teams to identify and mitigate inventory exposure while supporting revenue growth objectives. One Year - Demonstrate Strategic Supplier Leadership By the end of your first year, you will be recognized internally as the strategic leader responsible for driving the success of your assigned supplier portfolio. You will have established strong, trusted relationships with key supplier partners and positioned Heilind for long-term growth through strategic alignment and collaborative planning. Working with your top suppliers, you will develop multi-year business roadmaps focused on revenue growth, product expansion, and increased market share within targeted segments. Your leadership will contribute to improved supplier performance metrics and stronger alignment between supplier capabilities and Heilind's growth strategy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned. Be the primary corporate Heilind contact for assigned suppliers. Promote Heilind's value proposition to assigned suppliers, promote the products, plans and goals of assigned suppliers to Heilind Sales and Product Marketing personnel. Coordinate all Heilind supplier-related activities and strategies that promote increased growth and profitability for Heilind. Support Heilind sales and marketing strategies and communicate those strategies to suppliers as required; develop joint plans and programs for executing those strategies. Facilitate communications of issues and opportunities between each assigned supplier and Heilind management, Product Management, Asset and Sales. Work with all parties to quickly resolve issues and win opportunities. Work with divisional and district Sales Management and Regional Product Management to develop and implement supplier-specific sales strategies and tactics. Work with Asset on inventory, commodity profiles, stocking packages and inventory issues. Develop annual corporate business plans for all assigned suppliers. Lead the development, in collaboration with the branch and district management teams, of annual branch business plans for the assigned supplier. Develop and annual coop marketing and advertising plan by collaborating with the Heilind and Supplier marketing teams. Work with suppliers for continuous improvement of key business metrics. Work with suppliers and Heilind Information Systems and Marketing staff to automate business transactions and develop mutually supportive website links and content. Work with suppliers and Heilind Sales and Product Management to develop, coordinate and communicate appropriate product training and sales promotions. Conduct quarterly business reviews with each core supplier and semi-annual or annual business reviews with other suppliers as necessary. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 1-3 years of experience in procurement, supplier management, or supply chain roles (internships or entry-level positions may be considered). SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: To perform the position, you must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a US Person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (I.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with procurement software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to clearly express ideas both verbally and in writing; strong presentation skills. Ability to develop and execute a business plan. Basic understanding of supplier relationship management and procurement processes. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Frequent travel required.
