Position DetailsAdvertising/Posting Title Post Doctoral AssociatePosting SummaryThe Preston lab in the Department of Plant Biology at the University of Vermont is hiring a postdoctoral scholar to work on a National Science Foundation-funded project investigating convergent origins of chilling tolerance in C4 grasses. The position will primarily involve generation of plant phenotypic and transcriptomic data, bioinformatic and statistical analysis of data in a phylogenetic framework, mentoring of junior researchers, and manuscript preparation. The candidate will be responsible for supporting general laboratory oversight, including but not limited to ordering, equipment maintenance, and lab safety. In addition to appropriate safety training, the candidate will be encouraged to develop side projects and participate in professional development activities as a basis for development of an independent career.UVM is an R1 research university guided by Our Common Ground (values that prioritizes transdisciplinary research and collaboration as a strategy for continued strengthening of scientific inquiry and education.
