Job Title: Bridge Inspection Team LeaderClient: LVI Associates Location: New York, NY Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: $110,000 - $185,000 per yearAbout the Role This opportunity is with a well-established multidisciplinary firm with more than 40 years of experience delivering architectural, engineering, surveying, and construction solutions. The firm partners with major public-sector agencies, including NYSDOT and NYSTA, and plays a key role in complex transportation infrastructure projects across New York City. The firm is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to lead federally compliant inspections on technically complex bridge structures throughout NYC. This role combines hands-on field inspection with technical leadership, regulatory compliance, and team management responsibilities.Role Overview The Bridge Inspection Team Leader will be responsible for leading NBIS-compliant inspections, managing inspection teams, and ensuring accurate documentation and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical judgment, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of bridge safety standards and federal inspection requirements.Key Responsibilities Perform NBIS-compliant inspections of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and traffic support structures. Serve as Inspection Team Leader, overseeing planning, scheduling, field execution, and reporting activities. Lead inspection projects of varying size and technical complexity. Conduct detailed field inspections using appropriate access methods and inspection tools. Review drawings, survey data, aerial imagery, and technical documentation. Support project design efforts in accordance with applicable engineering standards. Manage subconsultants and internal project teams. Assist with proposal development and project documentation. Participate in client meetings to discuss project scope, findings, and progress. Mentor, manage, and evaluate inspection staff performance. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience performing in-service bridge inspections. Must meet NBIS Bridge Safety Inspection Team Leader requirements (23 CFR 650, Subpart C). Completion of FHWA-approved bridge inspection training, including: NHI 130055 & 130053, or NHI 130056 Authorization to work in the United States.
