Lead Mainframe Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Lead Mainframe Developer for a Contract with a client in Indianapolis, IN / Plano, TX / Boston, MA / Portsmouth, NH/ Seattle, WA. Candidate must have strong expertise in IBM Mainframe development using COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS DB, and related tools to be considered for this role. Rate Range: $37/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Lead Mainframe Developer job responsibilities include: Designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications built on IBM Mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, and IMS DB. Supporting QA teams by assisting in application testing and validating fixes across multiple stages. Conducting peer reviews of code and technical documentation to ensure quality and adherence to standards. Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting application issues, and coordinating with support teams to resolve software or hardware problems. Investigating and resolving dataprocessing issues by performing rootcause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Participating in oncall rotations to address application failures and provide timely resolution of performance or execution issues. Required Qualifications: Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical discipline. Candidate must have 5-8 years of handson experience in mainframe application development. Candidate must have strong proficiency in IBM Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS DB, MQ Series, and Xpeditor. Candidate must have experience in testing (unit, integration), along with working knowledge of Spring Boot and Git for modern development workflows.
