Job Title: Structural Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to effectively execute various tasks and responsibilities under the direction of Engineering Associates. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for managing your own projects, assisted by one or more Assistant Project Managers in designing structural drawings. This role requires experience in designing and detailing structural drawings for multi-family and mixed-use buildings, including mid-rise wood frame design, steel and concrete design for low-rise and high-rise construction, transfer slabs, shear walls, flat plate construction, com-slab construction, and light gauge steel construction. Responsibilities Design and detail structural drawings for multi-family and mixed-use buildings. Conduct shallow and deep foundation analysis and structural detailing. Read and interpret drawings, technical documentation, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Attend meetings with owners, clients, or consultants as needed. Communicate design requirements to contractors and equipment vendors to determine project scope and feasibility. Execute specific engineering studies and design analyses using industry software. Perform project site visits during construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes. Learn and understand company technical policies and procedures during project execution. Assist and perform activities inside and outside the organization consistent with ethical standards. Actively attend in-house training sessions to gain knowledge in necessary technical areas. Under supervision, perform and document engineering calculations and system design functions. Essential Skills 3 to 5 years of experience in structural design, planning, and engineering. B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural engineering. General knowledge and experience with AutoCAD. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn the basics of design and analysis within the discipline. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of building codes, standards, zoning, construction materials, and specifications. Strong leadership abilities and the ability to manage team assignments and personnel. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Cedar Grove, NJ.
