Posting Details Posting Summary Position Title Analytics and Research Specialist Job Category Administrative Staff Salary Range 70,066 - 73,000 Position Type Full Time Department Institutional Effectiveness Job Summary The Analytics and Research Specialist plays a pivotal role in advancing student success initiatives by conducting in-depth data analysis to identify and leverage statistical correlations via advanced research methods and BI solutions. Through the synthesis of complex, multi-dimensional data, this position supports informed decision-making and institutional improvements using existing data warehouse models containing the entire student lifecycle. The Analytics and Research Specialist is also responsible for all state and federal compliance reporting (OSHE, IPEDS, Perkins, etc.), maintaining the college's Factbook and trend reports, and managing the IE data reporting repository (Teams channel). Major Specific Tasks include: Lead data analysis to enhance student success initiatives, using statistical techniques and tools Design, develop, and implement Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for efficient data analysis. Create automated analytics reports and define metrics related to student success and institutional effectiveness. Assess, validate, and enhance models for predictive analytics and machine learning (ML) Develop data visualization & storyboards (Tableau, PowerBI) and support SAP Cloud Dashboard validation Qualifications - Education Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (master's preferred) such as social science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related discipline. Coursework in statistics, analytics, or data science is desirable. Qualifications - Experience Minimum of three years of relevant work experience in research design, data collection and correlation, statistical analysis, data analytics, and data visualization using tools like Tableau and Power BI. Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R, Python), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and SQL-based query tools (e.g., BOE). Qualifications - Skills Other (KSAOs): Proficiency in creating analytical data sets, ERP systems, SQL, and statistical software packages. Expertise with applied statistics, including regression models. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Qlik and programming languages (Python, Java, R) Expertise in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of machine learning, big data is preferred. Knowledge of ERP information systems (e.g., Colleague), database management, and SQL. Knowledge of institutional research and assessment in higher education. Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodology and the scientific method approach is preferred.
