Position Type: High School Teaching Date Posted: 3/4/2026 Location: Lakota East Freshman School Date Available: August 2026 Closing Date: Until Filled District: Butler Technology and Career Development School | POSITION High School Project Lead the Way Biomedical Science Instructor | GENERAL DESCRIPTION This instructor will teach Principles of Biomedical Science to 9th grade students. This is a foundational first course in the Biomedical Science pathway, introducing students to the essential laboratory procedures, scientific methodology, and professional ethics in the medical field. Students will also participate in the career technical skills organization HOSA. | QUALIFICATIONS Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio State Board of Education or ability to obtain proper licensure. Applicants must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING requirements to be considered for this position: Current licensure in on the following areas; OR 132010 Integrated Science 132030 Life Science 074850 Biotechnology 070998 Diversified Health Occupations 074820 Diagnostic Pathway 070904 Medical Assisting 070303 Nurse Assisting 070305 Surgical Technology 074830 Therapeutic Pathway Work experience and/or educational attainment in related field as outlined below AND ability to complete Ohio's alternative teacher licensure process, including university coursework: Bachelor's or master's degree outside the content area and five years of relevant work experience; OR Bachelor's or master's degree in the content area and two years of relevant work experience; Must successfully complete the Project Lead the Way teacher pre-assessment; Must successfully complete Project Lead the Way Summer Training Institute in Summer 2026 if credential not already held (Supervisor will provide information on registration and appropriate coursework.); Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member; Computer expertise appropriate to the position; Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills; State-issued identification card with photograph; History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy. | STARTING DATE August 2026 | LOCATION Lakota East Freshman School | SALARY Based upon experience and education ($52,819 - 110,180) | BENEFITS Includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; tuition reimbursement | WORK YEAR 185 days - 7.5 hours/day | DEADLINE Internal: March 11, 2026; External: Until Filled | APPLY TO Butler Tech Careers Attachment(s): PLTW Biomedical Science Instructor.docx
