Position Overview The Freddie Mac Multifamily Business Unit seeks a Portfolio Lead for Solutions Architecture supporting Business Applications. This role leads high-visibility initiatives, drives Agile Architecture transformation, and aligns with the Modern Delivery methodology. Responsibilities Architecture & Strategy Define and establish overall solution architecture and technical vision Develop High-Level Solution Intent and target-state architecture roadmaps Create and maintain reference architectures and design patterns Own detailed solution intent across: Information Application Technology Security Deployment viewpoints Plan and develop Architectural Runway for new features and capabilities Identify alternative solutions and emerging technologies Delivery & Implementation Support pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment activities Participate in incident resolution and impact assessments Develop reference applications for reusability and accelerated adoption Maintain Application Design Pattern catalog Collaboration & Governance Partner with Business Architects, CPO, PO, Agile Coach on architecture creation Align with Enterprise Architecture and Risk & Security standards Lead technical evaluations for RFPs, vendor interviews, and COTS POCs Present business cases for TAWG/ARB approvals Conduct design brainstorming and reviews with development leads Resolve implementation issues across business and technical layers Qualifications Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree preferred 15+ years in Solutions Architecture and Business Application development Extensive experience with: Micro-frontends Microservices 12-Factor applications Prior software development background required 10+ years task management experience Hands-on experience with Cloud Native architectures Proven leadership through organizational transformation 5+ years enterprise-scale architecture transformation experience preferred Mortgage industry experience (primary or secondary) desirable Deep knowledge of enterprise-level platforms preferred Keys to Success Highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving environments Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills Ability to influence across all organizational levels Expertise in both legacy and modern cloud-based distributed systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language
