Job Summary - Under general supervision of the Manager of MRI Services, and following established policies and procedures, operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathology. The technologist provides technical and ancillary support to the department mission through demonstrated clinical and academic competency in MRI. Clinical and academic competency is defined as completing training and meeting all clinical responsibilities to all areas assigned, ability to work unsupervised in the clinical setting, willingness to rotate to all areas as the need arises, and holding appropriate registration and advanced certification, as required by the ARRT, and the ACR. The MRI technologist performs a wide array of studies including those for neurological, musculoskeletal, chest, abdominal, pelvic, vascular/arterial, breast, research and others as need be.
