Location New York, New York Shift: Day Flex (United States of America) Description: Life-Changing Speech Therapy: Speech-Language Pathologists Make It Possible Speech Language Pathologist - Per Diem Milstein/Allen Hospital Weekdays and Weekends At NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center our Speech-Language Pathologists help adult patients experiencing serious impairments to connect with the world around them. Under the supervision of the Manager of Speech-Language Pathology, you will work with adult and geriatric patients from the most acutely ill in our ICU/acute care units, the inpatient rehabilitation unit, to the outpatient setting. This position will be at the Milstein and Allen Hospital location. This is a per-diem position for both weekdays and weekends. Must have some weekday availability and flexibility to work weekends - minimum of 2 days per month, and covering two holidays. Preferred Criteria Experience assessing and treating medically complex adult patients, including ICU-level patients. Experience providing communication and dysphagia intervention for patients with tracheostomy. Competency performing Modified Barium Swallow Study and/or Flexible Endoscopy of Swallowing. Required Criteria Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Pathology Association. New York State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Adult experience in inpatient hospital setting. Experience in dysphagia evaluation/treatment.
