Position Type: Facilities/Maintenance Date Posted: 8/27/2025 Location: District Date Available: TBD Responsibilities Complete work assignments as scheduled. Analyze each task in advance for tool and material requirements. Obtain approval from the Director of Facilities prior to making purchases. Return all areas in which work is performed to its prior condition. Keep all workshop areas orderly and clean. Account for all Board of Education tools, and keep them orderly and clean. Respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively. Remove snow and ice, and spread salt and sand, as directed. Complete a work log at the end of each day, and submit the log to the Director of Facilities at the end of each week. Substitute for staff members in other categories as directed by the Superintendent or Director of Facilities. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Director of Facilities. Requirements Satisfactory physical condition so as to be able to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength Education or practical experience in school or plant maintenance, or the skilled trades Proven experience with a demonstrated level of skill in the particular area of appointment, i.e., carpentry, electricity, plumbing, masonry, painting, equipment repair, etc Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalency Valid NJ Driver License Criminal history background check Proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status Compensation Per Hoboken School Employees Association (HSEA) contract
