This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification. Nature of Work: The main purpose of this position is to supervise the staff and operations of the Records and Research Section (R&R). This position will ensure the timely and accurate response to all research requests and maintain the records pertaining to the acquisition of SHA's right-of-way and other real estate holdings. It is also responsible for the implementation of all MDOT, SHA, and ORE policies and directives within the section. MDOT offers a generous and competitive benefits package. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Seven (7) years of experience providing acquisition, relocation assistance, or property/asset management services, including one (1) year as a project manager, or lead worker or one (1) year of appraisal review experience. Selective Qualification: One (1) year of the required experience must have involved title abstracting. Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess the following: Excellent written and oral communication Experience in reading plats and engineering plans Experience in title abstracting Notes: 1. Additional experience in professional or technical real estate work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required bachelor's degree for up to four years. 2. U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the minimum qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year-for-year basis. Licenses & Certifications Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland. Additional Information Special Requirements: Employees may be subject to State-wide assignment, which may occasionally require overnight travel. Employees must be willing and available for duty at such hours, day or night, as may be required in order to respond to agency operations.
