Advanced Practice Provider In The Medical ICU Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health in the medical ICU. Under the direction of the collaborating physician, provides care to patients in the medical ICU at Edward Hospital. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the hospital setting. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Provides comprehensive health assessments, formulates differential diagnoses, and prescribes treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants. Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Supports the strategic plan of the organization. Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures. Position: Advanced Practice Provider in the medical ICU Location: Edward Hospital, Naperville, IL Full Time: 36 hours per week Hours: Rotating days/nights: 7A-7P or 7P-7A Nights, weekends, and holidays required Inpatient role Qualifications: License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required Education: Completion of master's level program in specialty area Certification: BLS/CPR certification required. ACLS certification required Experience: Critical care experience as an APP preferred. Willing to consider new graduate ACNPs with prior critical care experience as an RN.
