Manufacturing Plant Leader

Atlas Molded Products, a division of Atlas Roofing Corporation, is a leader in the development and manufacturing of innovative, high-quality, HFC- and HCGC-free Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) insulation for construction, packaging, and OEM products. Our EPS insulation is versatile, suitable for a range of applications including interior and exterior construction, packaging uses, and components for manufactured systems such as recreational vehicles, garage and pedestrian doors, and sunroom panels. Since its establishment in 1982, Atlas Roofing Corporation has been a privately owned, international manufacturer of roofing, sheathing, facer, and insulation solutions. We are currently seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Plant Leader for our facility in Martinsville, Virginia. Primary Responsibilities: Oversee all safety protocols, product quality standards, operational performance, company culture, environmental health and compliance with all relevant standards. Coordinate all facets of plant operations with leadership to meet or exceed key performance indicators related to safety, quality, and service while aiming to minimize costs, inventory, and waste. Implement effective systems for controlling capital and operating expenditures, manpower, and salaries, aligned with corporate guidelines. Act as the plant champion for safety and quality initiatives, promoting a strict adherence to Atlas' safety policies to foster a zero-injury culture. Achieve manufacturing profit goals while ensuring quality and delivery commitments are met at minimal overall costs. Collaborate with Engineering on product improvements, new development, and testing. Manage the selection, acquisition, and implementation of capital equipment and oversee manufacturing budgets and long-range planning. Encourage a continuous improvement culture throughout the workplace. Lead direct report selection and development, fostering a career growth environment within the facility. Establish clear, measurable expectations for team members to enhance ownership and accountability. Complete necessary administrative tasks (monthly reports, manufacturing analysis, etc.). Experience Requirements: A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in manufacturing management. Five or more years of direct supervisory experience with an emphasis on staff development and planning. At least five years of experience in employee engagement and promoting a robust safety culture. Familiarity with financial statements, budgetary processes, and cost control mechanisms. A proven history of cultivating a continuous improvement mindset. Experience in capital investment planning and program management. Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety regulatory compliance. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Able to balance and achieve positive results in safety, quality, productivity, cost management, and employee relations. Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate and achieve results through others. Analytical skills to evaluate business proposals and process data effectively. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficient in MS Office and knowledgeable in manufacturing ERP systems. Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule and work extended hours when necessary. Education, Licenses & Certifications: A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience. Additional Information: Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with fluctuations in temperature, humidity, and exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals. Personal protective equipment is required.
