Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking motivated Construction Project Inspectors to join our dynamic team. This position requires candidates who are able to commute as necessary. To be eligible for this role, you must have at least an Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution. As a pivotal part of our team, you will support engineers and other professionals in overseeing highway construction projects. Your key responsibilities will include conducting construction inspections, surveying, material testing, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. Your Responsibilities: Perform inspections to verify compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications. Conduct material tests, review engineering plans, and analyze data effectively. Maintain detailed daily records of project activities and promptly resolve any construction issues. Monitor contractor operations and ensure work meets specifications and contract requirements. Document payment records, perform necessary construction calculations, and input data using computer systems or iPads. Proactively identify potential contractual issues and advise supervisors to ensure safety and quality. Ensure compliance with the NC Sedimentation and Pollution Control Act in all permitted areas. Communicate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, utility owners, and property owners to facilitate project progress while minimizing disturbances. What You Need: An Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution. 0 - 2 years of relevant inspection experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license. Able to engage in moderate physical activities, including walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Availability for night and weekend work as necessary. A commitment to applying safety principles in all operations. Mandatory safety toe shoes. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and meet fit-for-duty evaluation standards. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle report. Skills & Competencies: Understanding of survey crew techniques and responsibilities. Effective communication skills, conveying information clearly and succinctly. Ability to work safely in outdoor environments, particularly on construction sites. Experience in maintaining daily records and generating reports. Knowledge of construction practices, inspection methods, and surveying principles.
