What You Will Do At Lowe's, we strive to provide exceptional customer service while ensuring our store is clean, safe, and stocked with essential products. As a Department Supervisor, you will: Equip your team with resources and tools to deliver outstanding customer service. Assist with inventory management and merchandising decisions. Oversee the safe operation of store equipment and mentor employees on safety practices and lifting techniques. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and empower your team to create the best possible shopping experience for our customers. This includes: Coaching and training associates to enhance their skills. Delegating tasks and monitoring performance. Ensuring department coverage and efficiency. Engaging directly with customers to address their needs and facilitate sales. You will also participate in non-customer-facing duties such as inventory management, area recovery, and maintaining store safety standards. This role requires collaboration with management to develop effective strategies that drive sales and service. Communication with your team is essential, as sharing feedback and fostering morale are key components of our culture. Additionally, you may be entrusted with opening or closing the store and taking on manager-on-duty responsibilities as needed. Travel Requirements: This position generally does not require travel, but occasional trips for meetings, training, or support at nearby locations may be necessary. What We're Looking For Hourly Full Time: Generally scheduled for 39 to 40 hours weekly, with potential for additional hours based on store needs. Availability for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts across any day of the week is required. You should be physically able to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to fulfill job duties. A minimum capability to lift 25 pounds unassisted, with potential to lift more with help, is expected. What You Need To Succeed Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of retail experience, or 5 years of retail experience without a diploma. 1 year of customer service experience. 1 year of experience supporting Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor). Experience in team leadership or supervision. Knowledge of training, mentoring, and developing associates. Ability to collaborate across departments. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite. Capability to obtain any required sales-related licenses or registrations. Preferred Qualifications 3 years of retail customer service experience. 3 years of experience serving Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor). Leadership role experience with direct report responsibilities. Experience in home improvement retail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment. Key carrying experience with manager-on-duty responsibilities. Familiarity with store computer systems.
