Jetro Restaurant Depot is looking for a motivated Junior Procurement Specialist to enhance our procurement efficiency and ensure timely delivery of products. In this entry-level role, you will collaborate closely with the Sr. Director of Purchasing and Senior Buyers to support the company's goals while managing inventory for promotional categories with a focus on financial responsibility. Key Responsibilities: Place orders for products based on anticipated demand. Negotiate competitive product costs while ensuring high quality and service standards. Adhere to established company policies and procedures. Work towards meeting inventory goals while maintaining service levels and minimizing excess stock. Engage with various departments for seamless operation. Develop and sustain positive relationships with vendors, store operations, and distribution teams. Analyze acquisition costs to ensure competitive pricing while keeping quality and urgency in mind. Evaluate inventory, market trends, and promotions to provide insightful recommendations to the merchandising team. Review post-promotions to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. Address inventory problems at the store level due to allocation or order errors. Analyze daily and weekly reports on costs, quality, service levels, and inventory turnover, making necessary adjustments. Visit stores to assess program effectiveness and collect feedback. Manage Accounts Payable discrepancies for distribution-sourced items. Resolve billing issues at stores through diligent research and timely communication. Maintain thorough documentation and records for the department. Collaborate with Warehouse Operations to ensure smooth and timely product flow. Utilize remote access for the buying system as needed. Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Economics, Accounting, or Finance. Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience in Purchasing or Vendor Management, ideally in grocery, candy, or beverage sectors. Experience in marketing/logistics is a plus, with a strong understanding of retail operations and merchandising. Knowledge of grocery procurement, logistics, inventory management, marketing, and financial practices. Strong organizational and analytical abilities with a knack for data-driven decision-making. Outstanding planning and organization skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong business relationships. Proficient in MS Office, including Word and Excel; able to maintain focus amid frequent interruptions.
