Water & Sewer Maintenance Mechanic

Position: The Town of Sennett Water & Sewer Department is seeking applications for the position of Water & Sewer Maintenance Mechanic. Requirements: Applicants must have a valid driver’s license. Strong mechanical and maintenance abilities are preferred. Plumbing or water and sewer system experience preferred. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. Ability to run a backhoe preferred but not required. Ability to lift items/objects over 50 lbs. Must be able to communicate with customers. Ability to obtain a NYSDOH Grade D Water Operator Certificate within 24 months of hire (Town will cover the cost). Ability to cooperatively work with others. The Town of Sennett is a drug free workplace. Hours of Operation: Full Time (40 Hours/week). Able to respond to emergencies at all times of the day/night, weekends, holidays etc. On call 24/7. Benefits: New York State Retirement, Health, Dental & Vision Insurance.  Salary: $25 to $27 per hour, based on experience. A possible signing bonus of up to $5,000 for the right applicant. Additional Info: The Town will pay for the CDL course for a qualified applicant.
