Automotive Parts Specialist

The Automotive Parts Specialist plays a key role in delivering exceptional service to both retail customers and installers. This position will also assist store management to ensure tasks are completed effectively. Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply! ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Promote all company customer service initiatives, including programs like Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, and others. Welcome retail customers upon their entry and provide guidance in product selection with a friendly demeanor. Support managers and installer service specialists in meeting the needs of professional customers as required. Complete company training related to the position promptly and thoroughly. Deliver outstanding service to customers over the phone by adhering to company policies, accurately looking up parts, quoting prices, and suggesting premium or related items. Safeguard the cash drawer by accurately processing various payment methods, ensuring correct change is given, and managing credit card transactions effectively. Process exchanges and returns professionally in compliance with company policies. Handle customer complaints courteously and resolve them efficiently. Assist in maintaining store appearance by working on daily tasks such as freight receiving, stocking shelves, and cleaning. Engage in operational tasks including preparing merchandise returns for shipping, inventory cycle counts, and monthly stock adjustments. After proper training, operate store test equipment including brake lathes to assist customers with their needs. Conduct various in-store services for customers whenever permissible by law, such as installing wipers, testing battery systems, and replacing headlight capsules. When necessary, drive delivery vehicles to fulfill deliveries, ensuring compliance with company driving eligibility criteria. Perform other assigned tasks as needed. SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES Required: Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences. Demonstrated outstanding customer service capability, friendly and professional at all times. Effective multitasking skills to engage with customers in-store and over the phone simultaneously. Desired: Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, and automotive sales/service. ASE certification is preferred. Fluency in additional languages, especially Spanish.
