Infection Control RN - Full Time What You'll Do: As an Infection Control Nurse, you will take the lead in developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive infection prevention and control programs. You will serve as a practitioner, consultant, educator, and facilitator for all staff to ensure a secure and healthy environment across our facility. Key Responsibilities Oversee the infection control and prevention program, aiming to identify and limit the spread of infections among residents and staff. Review, update, and guide the implementation of infection control and prevention policies and procedures. Manage the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, Employee Health Program, and Universal Influenza Program. Participate as a member of the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee. Ensure compliance with new hire screening, documentation, and immunization reporting as per state and federal regulations. Conduct rounds to detect potential hazards, monitor infection control practices, identify educational needs, and assess adherence to safety standards. Develop and provide educational programs for all staff members. Track, analyze, and present surveillance data and craft action plans in coordination with the QAPI process. Maintain accurate records and reporting as mandated by state and federal regulations. A degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology. Infection Control and Prevention Certification required before starting the role. A strong interest in the care of the aged and chronically ill, demonstrating the ability to interact effectively with both groups. A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care. Strong clinical, organizational, and decision-making skills. Preferred experience in a Long-Term Care or similar healthcare setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
