CDL Class A Truck Driver The CDL Class A Truck Driver is responsible for operating company vehicles to make food deliveries to partner agencies, picking up food donations from donors, and adhering to all DOT and safety rules and regulations. The driver ensures the physical and mechanical condition of vehicles is maintained to promote a safe and efficient truck fleet. Responsibilities Drive vehicle to transport food, following all food safety regulations to and from the food bank to agencies, from donors, and other assigned areas. Load, unload, and clean the truck regularly. Count and separate food donations or purchased products by type while unloading the company vehicle. Communicate knowledgeably with co-workers, donors, and clients about the organization and associated situations. Assist with special events and distributions as needed, directed by the Manager of Transportation and Logistics. Perform other tasks as assigned. Essential Skills Minimum 5 years of driving experience. 1 3 years of experience operating a tractor with a trailer attached. High School Diploma. Possession of a current Commercial Driver License (CDL A). Satisfactory safe driving record. Ability to cross-train due to operational needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Must exhibit excellent customer service skills while interacting with staff, donors, agencies, and clients. Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Work Environment The role involves working across the DMV area with routes determined based on operational needs. Employees are expected to adhere to all safety and food handling regulations. The position requires wearing appropriate attire for driving and interacting with community partners. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Washington D.C., DC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $54995.00 - $67288.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
