Collections Specialist We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist who will generate, review, and process invoices accurately and promptly. The role requires ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements. The specialist will reconcile billing discrepancies, resolve customer billing issues, maintain and update customer billing accounts and records, and prepare billing drafts for management review. Collaborating with internal departments such as Operations, Collections, Contracting/Budgeting, and Customer Service to resolve billing concerns is crucial. Responsibilities Generate, review, and process invoices accurately and promptly. Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements. Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve customer billing issues. Maintain and update customer billing accounts and records. Prepare and distribute billing drafts for management review. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing concerns. Essential Skills 2-3 years of collections experience. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, preferably with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. Great communication skills, both written and oral. Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1-3 years of corporate collections experience with similar customer portfolios preferred. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills. Superior organizational and prioritization skills. Knowledge of Billing, Collections, and Accounts Receivable is a plus. Experience with the person is a plus. Commitment to excellent customer service. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Work Environment This full-time position requires working onsite five days a week, with an 8-hour workday and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Flexible start times are available between 7 am to 9 am, provided a consistent schedule is maintained. The office features pit-style cubicles, so comfort in working in an open environment is necessary. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
