Reconstruction Estimator Location: Los Angeles, California Compensation: $85,000 $100,000 Base (DOE) Benefits: Full Benefits Package + Company Vehicle + Gas Card + Toll Pass Industry: Property Restoration Reconstruction (Commercial & Residential) Work Model: Field + Office Hybrid Position Overview: We are representing a well-established restoration contractor in the Los Angeles market seeking a Reconstruction Estimator with proven experience in both commercial and residential rebuild projects post mitigation. This role is responsible for accurately scoping, estimating, and securing reconstruction work following fire, water, and property loss events. The ideal candidate understands insurance-driven workflows, communicates effectively with adjusters and property stakeholders, and can confidently build estimates using Xactimate and Time & Materials (T&M) methodologies. This is not an entry-level role. We are seeking a professional with stable tenure and a track record of delivering accurate, defensible estimates that convert into profitable projects. Key Responsibilities Conduct on-site inspections for residential and commercial reconstruction projects Develop detailed, line-item estimates using Xactimate Build and manage T&M estimates where appropriate Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and subcontractors to ensure scope alignment Review adjuster feedback and revise estimates as needed Negotiate scope and pricing with carriers and third-party administrators Ensure all estimates are complete, defensible, and aligned with company margin targets Support job costing and change order documentation Maintain clear documentation within project management system Preferred Background Experience in restoration-related reconstruction (fire, water, storm) Familiarity with Los Angeles permitting and local market pricing Knowledge of job costing and margin control What Success Looks Like Accurate, defensible estimates that convert efficiently Strong adjuster relationships Minimal estimate revisions due to scope errors Projects meeting or exceeding margin targets Clear documentation that supports smooth project execution Requirements Minimum 3 years of reconstruction estimating experience (commercial and residential required) Proficient in Xactimate (advanced level preferred) Strong working knowledge of T&M estimating Experience navigating insurance claim environments Stable work history with strong professional tenure Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and negotiation skills Benefits Base Salary: $85,000 $100,000 (DOE) Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision) Company vehicle Gas card Toll pass PTO and paid holidays
