About Business Analysis at Cardinal Health Information Technology plays a vital role in developing, delivering, and operating computing and information services. Position Overview The Senior Business Analyst Specialist works closely with business leaders and project teams to identify business needs and drive effective IT solutions. This role is crucial for defining project scopes and achieving business goals while ensuring successful development, implementation, and change management. By enhancing business processes and fostering innovative capabilities, this position enables business units to fulfill their operational and commercial objectives. With the experience required, the Senior Specialist will lead discussions with senior leadership and act as a solution owner within project teams. Key Responsibilities Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to identify business needs and challenges. Develop strong relationships with executive sponsors, product owners, and cross-functional leaders. Translate business strategies into clear problem statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and measurable success metrics. Guide decision-making and resolve conflicts among diverse stakeholder groups. Business Analysis & Solution Design: Create high-quality business requirements documents (BRDs), functional requirements documents (FRDs), user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation. Analyze current vs. future states, including gap assessments. Define the minimum viable product (MVP) scope, release plans, and non-functional requirements (security, performance, compliance). Work in collaboration with architects and engineers to develop solution options, assess trade-offs, and mitigate risks. Delivery & Governance: Serve as Product Owner/BA Lead for specific workstreams; manage backlogs, prioritize, and refine user stories. Facilitate Agile ceremonies (refinement, planning, demos, retrospectives) or stage-gate governance in hybrid/waterfall scenarios. Ensure traceability from business objectives to requirements and operational metrics. Support user acceptance testing (UAT), defect management, and readiness tasks for a smooth operational transition. Data & Process Excellence: Define and monitor KPIs/OKRs, conduct root cause analyses, and recommend data-driven improvements. Develop requirements for reporting/analytics, data definitions, and quality rules; collaborate with data teams on lineage and controls. Lead process re-engineering initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Risk, Compliance & Change: Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and assumptions; maintain RAID logs. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR). Create change management assets (communications, training plans) and support adoption efforts. Practice & People Leadership: Mentor junior analysts and continuously enhance methods, templates, and best practices. Contribute to proposals, estimates, and statements of work; facilitate pre-sales and solution shaping. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation throughout the delivery lifecycle. Location This is a hybrid role; the ideal candidate will be expected to work from the Dublin, OH office several times a month. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, preferred. 8-12 years of relevant experience, preferred. Exceptional communication skills, adept at asking insightful questions, leading cross-functional meetings, and providing clear status updates to both technical and non-technical audiences. Expectations for This Role: Utilizes advanced knowledge of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities for managing complex projects. Contributes to the formulation of policies and procedures aimed at achieving specific goals. Proposes new practices, processes, metrics, or models. Leads complex projects with significant and lasting impacts. Delivers innovative solutions to establish new company precedents. Independently develops methodologies for project completions while receiving guidance on overarching project objectives. Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues. Salary Information: $105,100-$135,090. Bonus Eligibility: Yes.
