RVC is a 80-bed facility offers a complete continuum of care, from medical detox and inpatient treatment to outpatient care and aftercare. The Behavioral Health Medication Technician (BHMT) is responsible for providing direct care and support to patients in a residential behavioral health setting. This role requires accurately reading and understanding medication orders, as well as monitoring and documenting patient self-administration of medications. The BHMT ensures proper retrieval, storage, and disposal of medications in compliance with established policies and procedures. In addition, this position supports patient care by observing behaviors, reporting concerns as appropriate, and assisting with various treatment-related activities. By promoting safety, recovery, and engagement, the BHMT plays a vital role in maintaining patient well-being, facilitating daily routines, and collaborating with clinical and nursing teams to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following: Core Job Duties: Obtains and records patient vitals. Observe and record patient self-administration of medication. Perform patient safety checks, room checks, and shift hand-offs to ensure a safe environment. Support the admission process, including belongings searches, documentation, and orientation of new patients. Monitor and engage patients during meals, groups, recreational activities, and community interactions to build rapport and encourage participation. Assist nursing staff with vitals, breathalyzers, urine drug screens, pulse oximetry, and other competency-based procedures. Observe and report changes in patient behavior, mood, or safety concerns to the treatment team. Respond promptly to emergencies and implement de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies when needed. Maintain infection control, hand hygiene, and biohazard safety standards in all patient care activities. Collaborate with nursing, clinical, and case management staff to reinforce treatment goals and individualized care plans. Model professionalism, boundaries, and recovery-focused behaviors for patients at all times. Others duties as assigned. Schedule: 12-hour shifts Urgently Hiring: FT Days (7a-7p) Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Coursework or degree in behavioral health or related field preferred. Experience: 3+ years of experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or a related field preferred. Prior experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or human services in roles with emphasis involving direct customer or client service experience, strongly preferred. Good driving record that meets safety and company insurance standards. Licensure/Certification Desired: Medication Administration Certification, Med Tech Certification Course (annually) required CPR and Standard First Aid certification Benefits Benefits begin on the 1st day of the month following date of hire.
