Associate Director of Business Development - Medical & Scientific Communications JOB SUMMARY The IQVIA Health Communications Group brings together specialized agencies to offer comprehensive communications powered by science and enhanced by creativity and technology. Our teams collaborate with clients across the entire product lifecycle in areas such as Medical & Scientific Communications, Promotional Medical Education, Marketing & Advertising, and Medical Affairs. We are excited to invite applications for the role of Associate Director of Business Development, focusing on Medical & Scientific Communications. This role is crucial in driving revenue growth by identifying, cultivating, and closing business opportunities with pharmaceutical and biotech clients. You will actively manage sales targets and related activities to meet our ambitious goals. RESPONSIBILITIES The Associate Director will work closely with the Senior Director of Business Development to enhance revenue generation by developing and securing business opportunities with both new and existing pharmaceutical and biotech clients. Conduct research and cultivate networking opportunities to uncover new prospects and penetrate new accounts. Utilize internal resources, client relationships, industry insights, and investigative skills to thoroughly understand clients' business environments, objectives, and challenges. Build meaningful professional relationships with various client stakeholders and influencers, understanding their individual roles, desired outcomes, communication styles, and motivators. Leverage market knowledge and existing relationships to continually expand the contact base and identify new business opportunities. Craft innovative initiatives, prepare, and deliver presentations and proposals that effectively demonstrate IQVIA Health Communications' capabilities and resources to illustrate our value proposition and commitment to addressing client needs. Develop written contracts and proposals for new clients. Manage sales targets and activities to meet both personal and company revenue objectives. Design a sales plan outlining key strategies, activities, and metrics to reach sales goals. Manage the sales process effectively, from prospecting and qualification to needs analysis, proposal creation, closing, project management, implementation, and ongoing account management. Track and report on all opportunities, including key milestones and support needs. Brainstorm and generate ideas for new programs and business development opportunities. Ensure the brand of IQVIA Health Communications Group is effectively represented and promoted across all client interactions and deliverables. Contribute to client meetings that clearly differentiate IQVIA Health Communications Group in the marketplace. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded. Synthesize client feedback for implementation by project teams, enhancing customer service by ensuring timely and high-quality communications and deliverables. Support improved customer service through effective communication and coordination with internal project teams. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Complete weekly timesheets. Attend and manage relevant internal meetings as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Science, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. A minimum of 10 years in relevant roles, including 4-5 years of sales experience in an agency, pharmaceutical, or biotech environment. Exceptional communicator, both written and verbal, with a proven track record of building and nurturing client relationships. Experience in medical communications or the pharmaceutical industry is mandatory. Demonstrated success in prospecting, building pipelines, managing opportunities through the sales cycle, and engaging with decision-makers. Strong people management and mentoring experience is required. Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.). Familiarity with project management systems is advantageous. Skilled in using web-conferencing tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx. A persuasive speaker and writer, able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. A collaborative team player with a proactive attitude. Driven by curiosity and a passion for continuous learning and collaboration. Willingness to travel as needed (up to 35% of the time).
