Job Description

Join our dedicated team as a Grocery Department Assistant, where you will play a key role in supporting department operations, maximizing financial performance, and stepping into management responsibilities when needed. Key Responsibilities: Exemplify Customer 1st behavior and inspire fellow associates to deliver outstanding customer service. Ensure compliance with Food Safety standards, divisional merchandising initiatives, and safety guidelines. Check stock levels to confirm that promotional items are available. Assist with product breakdown for early removal as needed. Advocate for and adhere to company initiatives and promotions. Engage with customers by selling products and performing cashier duties when required. Oversee freight receiving and stocking practices to maintain efficiency. Conduct daily tours to ensure tasks are being followed up on. Monitor and adjust inventory charts for optimal performance. Stay informed on daily sales figures. Manage maintenance and repair requests effectively. Address customer comments, complaints, and requests promptly. Complete incident reports for customer and associate events. Process salvage items as necessary. Access and utilize online sales data efficiently. Prepare and submit Intersection Transfers. Carry out cashier responsibilities including opening/closing registers, scanning items, and maintaining balanced cash drawers. Must be capable of performing essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications: Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Understanding of alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and printers. Keen knowledge of company policies and organizational structure. Passion for providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. Able to prioritize tasks and multitask while achieving accurate and timely results. Capable of reading and interpreting various documents. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction). Proven ability to coach and train fellow team members. Attention to detail to ensure accuracy. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Familiar with industry terminology and processes. Desired: 6 months of relevant experience. First Aid/CPR certification. Forklift certification. Food Safety certification. Compensation: $21.55 - $26.15 per hour.
