The EH&S Department Coordinator II uses independent judgment and discretion in representing large/complex programs by serving as the primary point of contact. This role is responsible for the development and execution of work processes and serves a subject matter expert for multiple programs within the department. This role provides both administrative and strategic support towards achieving the overall goals of the Fire & Life Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Environment of Care, and Respiratory Protection Programs. A cover letter is required when applying to this role.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and participate in program activities including drills, training, outreach events, equipment upkeep Conduct routine safety inspections within clinical environments and construction areas Participate in Pre-Construction Risk Assessments and assist with associated safety plans/measures Support fire drills and emergency exercise activities Investigate reported safety concerns and escalate issues as applicable Assist with investigations of actual accident/injury/disaster events Conduct employee respirator fit testing and train other staff to fit test Enter and pull data from the Enterprise Health system Compose statistical reports, deficiency findings, drill score sheets, compliance audits, presentations or other documents Coordinate, track, and closeout assigned safety corrective actions, or program compliance Coordinate meeting activities; scheduling, drafting agendas, and meeting minutes Maintain EH&S department team pages on SharePoint/Teams/Intranet Maintain compliance documentation necessary for regulatory inspections as directed Act as a scribe during regulatory inspections as a member of the escort team dedicated to the Fire Marshal/Life Safety Surveyor Acts as a liaison to other departments and general staff Monitor multiple EH&S program email inboxes and assist in addressing requests, questions, and concerns in a timely manner Identify and resolve operational problems Propose/advise in program development and improvements Track and order supplies and enter financial requisitions as directed Coordinate EH&S vendor work and ensure quality results Provide coverage for team members as appropriate for your level of responsibility. Assist with safety training content and presentations Audit Safety Data Sheets for accuracy/current information Other duties as assigned QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires High School/GED and six years of administrative or relevant experience OR equivalent education/experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with healthcare and/or Lab safety and regulations. Associate or Bachelor's Degree Basic experience with electronic file sharing. Familiarity with workplace safety and healthcare regulations Critical thinking skills Ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities. Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment. Customer service skills. Ability to prioritize concurrent responsibilities and demands. Demonstrated initiative toward advancing technical skills, sharing knowledge with others an taking on more responsibility. Strong organizational skills. Advanced ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel). Ability to work independently and as part of a team as the situation requires. Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phones, and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner. Ability to facilitate and present in meetings. Ability to navigate team and organizational dynamics. Ability to prepare, monitor, and interpret budgets including analysis of variances. The hourly pay range for this position is from $33.42 to $50.12 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
