Are you looking to make a difference in people's lives? Join our vibrant team as a Short Term Disability and Absence Claims Manager! This remote position offers a competitive hourly wage of $21.64, along with an annual bonus target of 3%. We seek passionate individuals ready to support employees during their challenging times. In this role, you will serve as the primary contact for managing Short Term Disability claims and various paid or unpaid leaves, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and State Paid Disability. Your efforts will focus on collaborating with employers, employees, and healthcare providers to achieve timely resolutions for claims. Your key responsibilities will include: Interpreting contract language and group disability plan designs to ensure accuracy in claims management. Communicating clearly and effectively with claimants, physicians, and planholders regarding claim statuses and decisions. Proactively engaging with claimants and healthcare providers to collect necessary information for both initial and ongoing claims. Formulating actionable plans for pending and ongoing claims to deliver timely and accurate benefit determinations. Conducting thorough investigations and analysis to determine claims eligibility and coverage in line with contract details. Fostering a customer-centric approach to ensure positive experiences and outcomes for claimants. Reviewing occupational levels and medical information to assess definitions of disability for claimants. Calculating insured earnings and payable benefits while managing offsets and overpayments accurately. The ideal candidate will possess: A High School Diploma or GED, with previous experience in Short Term Disability, Statutory, or Family Medical Leave (FML) preferred. Exceptional communication skills to provide outstanding customer service. The capability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications.
