GeoMelt Technician

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential Functions:Primary responsibility is to operations leadership and day-to-day operations in a vitrification facility:Being onsite during operations (requires shift work)Responsible for setup and disassembly of the GeoMelt system and for carrying out the duties necessary to maintain proper GeoMelt OperationsCapable of operating specialty equipment and performing challenging technical tasksSeek assistance from senior Veolia staff as neededMust be capable of wearing a respirator as neededThis position is required to possess proficiency in computer applications, specifically email and spreadsheets. Employee must also have an ability to effectively communicate with various technical and managerial professionals. Must have the ability to adapt to working in a constantly changing work environment.AccountabilitiesSafely performing tasks in a radioactive and hazardous waste treatment environmentCompliance with operating procedures, work instructions, and ESH&Q requirementsKnowledgeable on technology and equipment deployed within the respective facilityFacility operations within conditions of a Radioactive Materials LicenseWork EnvironmentThis job takes place in operational facilities, professional office environments, and test sites. Environment is in a hazardous waste treatment facility which requires compliance with conditions of a Radioactive Materials license. Work may occur in environments which are not temperature controlled. Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, talk, and hear.
